2014 Reflection: The Year of Adventure
2014 will be remembered as the year of adventure.
In 2014, I got married. Said adios to my first dream job for the unknown of a second. I moved from the 48th state in the USA to the 46th. I played in at least four slow pitch softball leagues during a single season. I experienced the deep loss of loved ones. I served on a nonprofit board. I swam in the Atlantic Ocean. I wore red lipstick for the first time. And I gained three pounds.
This adventure has been one of change. It has been nonstop. Yet in the midst of what felt like utter, unending chaos, I was blessed with moments that seemed to freeze time, allowing me to step back and recognize one of greatest gifts God has given me this year -- your friendship.
I am so thankful for you. For your friendship. Through the emotional ups and downs this year, you have all played a significant and powerful role. Whether it be a Skype date, a coffee chat, a walk through the neighborhood, a friendly and encouraging email, a day of window shopping, a home cooked meal, a wedding celebration, a game of Chinese checkers, fashion advice, or a chat over pizza telling me it's okay to go forth and try new things -- I am changed and better because of you. You helped me take a deep breadth and realize how truly blessed I am.
So in 2015, I hope to return the love and support you have so unselfishly shared with me.
Happy New Year!
